Shared folders open as links?

I mounted my Google Drive to my File Explorer, currently using the free verison as I’m testing. Everything works fine, except for the folders that are shared with me. They only show up as links and then the web interface of Google Drive opens. This really annoys me. Is there a fix for this?

Hey! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
As per my opinion, that you shared folders often appear as links because the free version may have limited support for fully integrating shared content directly into your local file system.

A possible fix is to use Google Drive’s Backup and Sync or Google Drive for Desktop, which offer better integration for shared folders. If you are already using one of these, make sure you have the latest version installed, as updates sometimes address these kinds of issues.

I hope this answer solve your query.

Hi and thank you.

Unfortunately that’s not possible for me as I run Windows on ARM. Google should add a native app for this architecture.

Hi, Ruud Bol.

This issue is not related to the free version.

RaiDrive uses the browser display method for Google’s shortcut links because it’s very complicated to organise them into a single file system.

If you want to see folders that are shared with you, you can either check the ‘Shared with me’ option in your drive settings, or check the ‘Link’ option and type in the Url displayed in the browser for that folder.

If we’re misunderstanding something, or if you have any feedback, please let us know again.

Thank you.
