Hi~ @L_C ,
Usually 401 error occurs when ID/PW is entered incorrectly. If you have entered the correct IP/PW, please make sure the Synology server’s address or port is correct. It is also recommended to temporarily turn off virus scans and anti-virus software and try again. You should also check the NAS admin page to see if the IP you are using is blocked.
I had the same issue.
Turned out that my NAS drive server had a setting which if incorrectly inputting the settings more than 10 times in 5 minutes blocked the IP address.
Went to Control Panel, Connectivity, Security, Then over to Account, then click in the Allow/Block List, and remove the IP address you was using very recently. This should be the correct one. Click Apply, then try again using the correct Username and Password.
All fixed now for me and took me a day to find that setting, via many trial and error methods.
Hi, yesterday, the admin changed my password while I was still connected on the server. I was booted and when I tried to enter my new password, I had a 401 unauthorized. The admin tried to login with his own infos and succeded. Then he created a new account for me, same issue. 401. I tried on my personnal computer to log in through the brower, I was banned again. It’s only when I activated my VPN that I could log in with succes. I set a VPN on my work computer and it’s working, but I wish I wouldn’t have to keep it (the price, and the slower internet).
My IP adress is not on the Block list. We understand it has something to do with the IP but not how it’s working, since the admin can successfully log in with his account on my computers.
Do you have an idea of what’s going on?
Hi~ @a.arliaud ,
If you’re having success with your VPN, IP blocking is the most suspicious part.
You’ll want to check your WebDAV server, firewall, router, etc. for IP blocking or firewalls.
Also, if your account is new, you might want to check your folder permissions.
If you can zip up the log files(C:\ProgramData\OpenBoxLab\RaiDrive\log) and email(support@raidrive.com) them to us, we’ll take a look and see if there are any other issues.
