To assign a webdav-share to a folder instead of giving it a drive-letter, I have to activate “local drive public”. What is that? “Public” sounds as if strangers could then access my local hard drive - which would then be a massive security risk.

Windows restricts folder mounts from being Private.
RaiDrive also follows this guideline, so selecting Private disables folder mounts.
