Hello together!

To assign a webdav-share to a folder instead of giving it a drive-letter, I have to activate “local drive public”. What is that? “Public” sounds as if strangers could then access my local hard drive - which would then be a massive security risk.

You can choose Private not to share outside.

Sorry for the inappropriate response. You are right.
Windows restricts folder mounts from being Private.
RaiDrive also follows this guideline, so selecting Private disables folder mounts.

And the question now is, what does that mean? Or what does that do? Is there a security risk behind “public”?

Public means that any account on a machine can access.
