RailDrive.ShellExtension.x64.comhost.dll failed to register

Hi,

During instllation of 2025.7.16 version, I received a message that module “RailDrive.ShellExtension.x64.comhost.dll” can’t be registered, with a mention of “HRESULT -2147450733”.

I don’t know what to do. Can you help me?

This error is usually caused by a Microsoft .NET issue or a Windows update issue.

First, update Windows.

Then, install the latest version of .NET 8 from the link below:

Download and install the version appropriate for your PC’s environment from the .NET Desktop Runtime 8.0.19 section.

Thanks for your answer!

Windows was up-to-date, and unfortunately .NET update changed nothing.
As it was a new issue, I remove the last update of Windows (sorry, I didn’t note its KB reference), and now RailDrive compltely passed.

So, we can close that topic, expecting the issue won’t reappear when I’ll update Windows again…
